Hosting a party is a privilege that brings a lot of fun and laughter, and then suddenly, everyone leaves, and you’re left standing in the mess. From empty cups and sticky counters to mystery stains and debris all over the place, you’re forgiven for thinking that throwing a bash was a bad idea all along.

But the good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way at all. Sure, no one likes house cleaning, let alone after an army of people has trampled all over your home. The easiest way to make it all go away is to book a house cleaning in Webster Groves and spend the day relaxing, reminiscing, and going over some of the highlights of the evening.

If that’s not an option, today’s post is tailor-made for you. Armed with a clear game plan and a few pro cleaning tips, you can whip your living space back into action without spending your whole Sunday doing it. Let’s see how!

How to Clean up Fast After a Party?

How to Clean up Fast After a Party?

Whether it was a birthday bash, Easter celebration, or a weekend hangout, your home took one for the team and now’s the time to clean up. The first thing to do is to adopt a can-do attitude.

While it won’t exactly make cleaning fun, it will make the task much easier. Let’s take a look at tried-and-true tips that will help you reset your home so you can relax and enjoy the afterglow of a fun night.

    1. Start with A Walkthrough

Just like a general after a battle, you should stroll through your home and assess the situation before you get down to cleaning. Take the trash bag with you so you can deal with any emergencies you find along the way. Collect leftovers, toss them in the trash, and pick up the debris that is lying about the place.

Don’t forget to check under the couches, behind the appliances, and in the corners. Once you’re taken care of the visual chaos, it will make the rest of the cleanup process less overwhelming.

    2. Soak First, Scrub Later

If you’ve used dishes, pans, or trays to serve your guests, you should soak them right away. Use the sink stopper to pour hot, soapy water into your sink. Toss everything in and let it sit while you’re taking care of other things.

The dish soap will eat into gunky dishes while you’re busy elsewhere. The longer your dishes sit, the less elbow grease you’ll need later on. If you prefer green options, toss a couple of lemon slices into your sink and let them cut through grease and freshen things up in a natural way.

    3. Stains Shouldn’t Wait

No matter how careful your guests are, spills will happen, especially if your party is worthy of its name. Red wine, salsa, and chocolate are just some of the party treats that can quickly go from fun to frustrating. Treat all obvious stans using a clean cloth and a gentle cleaner fluid that is suited to the surface you’re tackling.

A combination of baking soda and white vinegar is a great option for environmentally conscious households. Just remember to always test on a hidden spot to make sure that you won’t discolor your belongings.

    4. Tackle One Room at A Time

While it may be tempting to let your mind wander and bounce from one room to the next, especially if you’re feeling the consequences of a festive night, try to adopt a step-by-step approach. Not only will it help you keep track of progress, but it will also end up taking less of your time and effort.

It’s also smart to first tackle the areas that look the worst. It will make a big visual difference and ensure that the tasks keep getting easier as you move along. There’s no more delaying it; now is the time to wipe the surfaces clean.

    5. Whip out The Vacuum & a Mop

Whip out The Vacuum & a Mop

Once you’ve taken care of the trash, dealt with the clutter, handled stains, and wiped surfaces, it’s time to bring out the heavy gear. Vacuum carpet, rugs, and upholstery (if you have the appropriate extension) to pick up crumbs and debris.

If your carpets bore the brunt of the party, you can sprinkle baking soda on them before vacuuming to help absorb the odors. After that’s finished, sweep and wet mop the floors to top it off and get that clean-slate feeling.

    6. Don’t Forget the Bathroom

Even if the party was mostly in the living room and kitchen, all your guests have probably made at least one appearance in the bathroom while the party was in full swing. Wipe down sink, counter, and toilet. Disinfect the faucet and other high-touch surfaces.

Give the mirror a detailed wipe, replace hand towels, and take out the trash. Don’t forget to open the window and let in the fresh air.

    7. Apply the Finishing Touches

Finally, your home looks and feels normal again. All that’s left is to do is a quick inspection. Put the décor and furniture back in place, fluff the pillows, put in the fresh towels, restock the snacks, and pour yourself a refreshing drink.
