Family cars keep getting better. More people want vehicles that can fit everyone comfortably: parents, kids, and friends.

That’s why three-row SUVs are becoming a top choice for many families.

These bigger vehicles make life easier. Need to take the kids to soccer practice? Done.

Want to go on a weekend trip with extra luggage? No problem.

Planning to help a friend move some boxes? There’s space for that, too.

The best part? You don’t have to choose between carrying people or stuff.

Three-row SUVs let you do both. Plus, they’re great for everyday driving, from school runs to grocery trips.

    Honda 3rd Row SUV Collection

    Honda Pilot

    Honda Pilot

I find the Honda Pilot stands out in the three-row SUV market. I’ve looked at the 2023-2025 models, and they keep getting better.

The newest Pilot comes with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 285 horsepower, plenty for daily drives and long trips.

I particularly like its clean design and practical interior.

What caught my eye was how much thought had gone into the details.

The 9-inch touchscreen is easy to use, and the cabin feels well-made.

I’ve noticed the seats are very comfortable, and there’s good visibility all around.

I think the Pilot makes a lot of sense for families who need space and comfort.

    Honda Odyssey

    Honda Odyssey

I’ve spent time looking at the Odyssey, and it’s clear this minivan means business.

The Magic Slide seats are really smart – I can move them sideways to create different layouts.

This makes it super easy to reach the back row or make more room when needed.

I’m impressed by how much technology is packed inside.

The rear entertainment system keeps kids happy on long drives.

What I find most useful is the built-in vacuum cleaner – perfect for cleaning up after snacks.

The cabin is quiet, and I can talk to rear passengers through the speakers, which is pretty handy.

Features of Honda 3rd Row SUV

    Seating Capacity

I’ve found that both the Pilot and Odyssey are great at handling passengers.

The Pilot chooses between seven or eight seats, depending on whether I want second-row captain’s chairs.

The Odyssey fits eight people comfortably.

What I like most is how the seats are positioned – everyone gets good legroom, and the third row isn’t just for kids.

    Spacious

I’m always surprised by how much room these vehicles offer.

The Pilot gives me 158.4 cubic feet for passengers, while the Odyssey has 163.6 cubic feet.

I can store lots of bags behind the third row.

When I fold down all the back seats, the space is huge, perfect for big shopping trips or moving furniture.

    Flexible Seating Arrangements

I would love to change the seating layout to fit my needs. The seats fold flat when I need cargo space.

In the Odyssey, I can remove the middle seat in the second row.

The Pilot’s seats fold down easily, too. I’ve found it simple to fit child seats, and there’s still room for adults to sit comfortably.

    Safety Features

I feel secure knowing these vehicles have solid safety systems. They come with features that help prevent crashes and protect passengers.

I get warnings if I drift from my lane or if a car is in my blind spot. The automatic braking has my back if I need to stop quickly.

The system even helps me keep a safe distance from other cars.

    Powerful Engine

I’m impressed by the 3.5-liter V6 engine in both vehicles. The Pilot gives me 285 horsepower, while the Odyssey has 280.

I get smooth acceleration when I need it, and passing on highways makes me feel confident.

What I really like is how they balance power with good fuel economy. I can drive far without worrying about gas stops.

    Towing Capacity

I find the towing abilities quite useful. The Pilot lets me pull up to 5,000 pounds when equipped with all-wheel drive.

That’s enough for a small boat or camper. The Odyssey can handle up to 3,500 pounds.

I appreciate how stable these vehicles feel when towing.

The special transmission cooling helps prevent overheating on long hauls.

Need a tough ride for outdoor trips? The Pilot’s your answer with its all-wheel drive.

Want easy loading and maximum space? Go for the Odyssey with its smart doors and huge cargo room.

Both vehicles keep families safe and comfy. The Pilot handles rough roads better, while the Odyssey works great for daily city drives.
