Wind Creek S.P. is situated on a 41,000 acre reservoir called Lake Martin and it is this beautiful lake that provides the main attraction for this one of the Alabama State Parks.

The activities are mainly centered on the lake and its shoreline and the park has a wonderful marina with a 210 foot long fishing pier. Obviously boating is an extremely popular pasttime and the marina provides boat rentals and a bait and tackle shop for the fishing enthusiasts.

Lake Martin is so well stocked with fish that a large number of competitions are held at Wind Creek State Park. They include The American Bass Anglers Association and The Georgia Glenn AT&T Pioneer Tournaments.

There are two hiking trails in the park, the Campfire Trail is 1.8 miles long and the Alabama Reunion Trail is 3.8 miles. They take the hiker through a mix of superb environments including hardwood forest which during the spring can be a blaze of colors.
